I’ve spent some time this week working on my jhbuild scripts, making sure they are as easy to use as possible. Unfortunately, they still require some baby-ing to work correctly. I have also renamed a few modules, and tweaked their settings to lower the amount of annoyance caused by the build system.
The gimp module “gimp-python” (a working name at the time) has since been renamed to “gimp-2.8″, while another module has been added, “gimp-master”. This means that you can now install gimp-2.8 and gimp-2.9 side-by-side without experiencing any problems.
Note that this will generate two separate gimp checkouts in the source directory, one named gimp-2.8 and the other gimp-master.
Hopefully this will make it easier for people to create their own builds without having to mess with macports et al.
I will also be updating the bundle information so that gimp 2.8 or 2.9 bundles can be created at will.
Teaser #1: Gimp 2.9 running on osx
Teaser #2: High bit-depth blah blah blah smooth color stops blah
